OCSD is currently looking to fill the role of a Senior Information Technology Analyst
Under general direction, provides highly advanced technical support internally and to departments with very complex computer systems and programs, both in the office and/or in the process control environments. Specifically, this person will analyze network security and performance issues; develop, implement, and monitor computer security and disaster recovery solutions with the ability to identify potential security and utilization issues within a Microsoft/Cisco environment and an industrial control network. This individual will design strategies and recommendations to improve security and network performance; oversee the refresh and deployment of computer hardware and software in the office, network, backend server, storage, and/or process control environments. Additional duties will include serving as project manager on assigned projects; analyzing information system needs; recommending solutions and appropriate technology to meet the District's needs; identifying training issues on assigned systems or applications; developing training manuals; and conducting related training sessions.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, information systems, or a related field. This position requires six (6) years of increasingly responsible information systems or network programming and analysis experience, including two (2) years of experience at a level comparable to an Information Technology Analyst III at the District. The preferred candidate will be experienced in using a wide variety of software security tools, including PowerShell, and implementing a centrally managed endpoint security system; have substantial experience in corporate and industrial control security; and be an expert administrator in a Microsoft environment, including Active Directory, Group Policy, NTFS Permissions, and DNS. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the ability to configure and troubleshoot a wide variety of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM appliances, and APT countermeasures.

Hiring Salary Range: $96,616.00 - $106,516.80/year
starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications
Physical Demands
Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various District and meeting sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Environmental Elements
Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
Disaster Service Workers
All Orange County Sanitation District employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state law (California Government Code Section 3100-3109). Employment with the Orange County Sanitation District requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
